By the end of this article, you will:

1. Know how to log into the PortalSIX user app

Before you can login to the PortalSIX user app for the first time, you need to register your new user account. If you have not registered your new user account, please do so before trying to login. Information on user account registration can be found here: Registering your new PortalSIX user account.

Logging into your PortalSIX user account

1. Navigate to your organization's PortalSIX user app login page. The URL for this page will be in the following format: https://[your org's account name].app.six3ro.com/login.
   
2. Enter your username. Your username is the email address associated with your PortalSIX user account.
   
3. Enter your password, which you created during the registration process. Click Continue.
   
4. PortalSIX requires you to enter a code as an additional authentication method. You can choose whether to have this code sent to your email address or texted to your mobile device. Choose the desired location (email or text), and click Continue.
   
1. Note: you'll be able to choose the location to have the code sent to each time you login.
5. Locate the code sent to the location you chose in the previous step. Enter it where prompted on the PortalSIX login page and click Continue.
   

When you successfully complete these login steps, you will be presented with the main PortalSIX user app screen, which displays all SIXs that you are an authorized participant in.

If you are unable to login to the PortalSIX user app

If your login attempt fails, you can either retry the login process or you can recover access by clicking on the Forgot Password link on the first login screen (with username and password entry fields). If you choose to recover your access, you will receive an account recovery email at the email address associated with your PortalSIX user account. This email will look much like the new user welcome email, and will contain a URL, your username, and a one-time password (OTP) that you'll need to start the recovery process.

To recover access:

1. Navigate to the access recovery URL included in the account recovery email.
   
2. Enter your username (the email associated associated with your user account) and the one-time password (OTP) from the email. Click Continue.
   
3. Enter and confirm a new password for your account. Click Continue.
   
1. Note: if your chosen password does not meet the complexity requirements, you will be prompted to try again.
4. Locate the code sent to the email address associated with your user account. Enter the code where designated. Click Continue.
5. Locate the code sent to your phone via text. Enter the code where designated. Click Continue.
   

When you have successfully completed these steps, you will be able to login to the user app.

Please keep in mind: 

Files that are available to you on PortalSIX are encrypted with a key that is accessible only to you. When you recover access, you lose access to these keys. You will be able to regain access to the files you're authorized to access when other PortalSIX users who possess those file make them available to you (via secure means). This means that it may take time before you have access to all files you're authorized to access again.

If you added a file to a SIX before recovering access, and this file was either not shared with any other user (for example, it's in a SIX with no other participants), or no other user has retrieved the file, you will not be able to regain access to the file (as no other user has the file). In this case, you will be prompted to re-add the file to PortalSIX.
