Modify SIX participants (Add, Remove, and Change Participant Role)
Who this is for
This article is for PortalSIX Users.
Only SIX Owners can modify SIX participants. Users that are not owners will not see the button, labeled Manage Access, to modify SIX participants.
What you'll accomplish
By the end of this article, you will:
- Know how to modify participants in a SIX.
Key Concepts or Steps
- To modify participants in a SIX that you have access to, access the desired SIX (see Accessing a SIX).
- Select the tab labeled "Participants."
- All participants in the SIX and their role (Owner, Internal User, External (or Guest) User) will be shown. Above the list of current participants, click on the button labeled Manage Access.

- This will open a workflow similar to the one shown when creating a SIX. On the first screen, you can, if desired, add or remove SIX owners.
- Note: A SIX must always have at least one owner. If you remove all owners, you will be unable to proceed through the workflow.
- Note: Internal users that are already non-owner members of the SIX will not be available to add as an owner. If you wish to change an internal user from a member to owner, please click Next to go to the Members screen and remove the user from that list. Then, click on Previous to return to the Owners screen. The user will now be available to add as an owner.
- When you are finished modifying SIX Owners, click Next.
- You can add or remove Internal Members on the second screen, if desired. When you are finished modifying internal members, click Next.
- You can add or remove External Members on the third screen, if desired. You may also invite new External members on this screen.. When you are finished modifying and/or inviting External Members to the SIX, click Next.
- For instructions on inviting new External Users to your PortalSIX account (and to your SIX), please review step 6 in the article: Creating a new SIX
- Review the modified SIX membership and roles on the last screen. Click Confirm to make the changes to your SIX participation.
Users newly added to the SIX will be able to see the SIX and all files and folders in it.
Users removed from the SIX will no longer see the SIX on their PortalSIX Dashboard.
