FAQ: Who can access a SIX?

A SIX (which stands for "secure information exchange) has one or more participants - other PortalSIX users authorized to see the SIX and access the files in it.

There are two types of SIX participants: Owners and Members.
  1. Owners can not only view the SIX and access the files in it, but they can also modify (add or remove) participants in the SIX, they can delete files from the SIX (even files they did not add to the SIX), and they can delete the SIX.
  2. Members can view the SIX and access the files it. They cannot modify participants. They can only delete files that they added to the SIX. They cannot delete the SIX.
  3. All SIX participants can also view the full list of participants in a SIX and they can view the activity log for the SIX.
When a SIX is created, at least one Owner must be selected. This owner can be the user creating the SIX, but this is not a requirement. The SIX creator can select another user to be the SIX Owner. Also, while a SIX must have at least one Owner, there is no upper limit to the number of Owners a SIX can have.

A SIX can be created with or without Members.

Once a SIX has been created, any of the SIX's Owners can add or remove participants at any time, but they must always maintain at least one SIX Owner.
