FAQ: What are the different types of PortalSIX users?

PortalSIX users fall into one or more of the following 'roles':
  1. Customer Account Administrator
  2. Internal User
  3. External User
Each type of user and the systems and functionality they can access are described below.

Customer Account Administrator
Customer Account Administrators are specified by either the person or people who initially create the organization's PortalSIX account or by the organization's existing account administrators.
They can log in to their organization's PortalSIX customer account administration portal, but cannot log in to the PortalSIX user app (unless they also have a PortalSIX user account). Using this administration portal, Customer Account Administrators can view and manage their organization's account information, other Customer Account Administrators, users (both internal and external) on their organization's PortalSIX account, and the organization's PortalSIX subscription and payment information.

Internal User
An internal user is a PortalSIX user associated with a paid user seat on an organization's PortalSIX subscription. Usually, internal users are employees of the organization with the PortalSIX account, but they do not have to be. An internal user's account is created and managed by a Customer Account Administrator.

Internal users can log into the PortalSIX user application. They can create new SIXs, they can be selected as SIX owners (which enables them to manage participants in and delete the SIX), and they can view and access SIX that they are a participant in. Internal users can also create new external users, as long as their are external user spots available on their account.

External User
An external user is a PortalSIX user that  occupies an external user spot on a PortalSIX customer account. Each paid seat (internal user seat) on a customer's PortalSIX subscription comes with a certain number of external user spots, which are available across the organization. External users can be created either by an internal user, or by a Customer Account Administrator.

External users can log into the PortalSIX user application just like internal users, but they can not create new SIXs or be selected as SIX owners. External users can only view and access SIXs that they are a participant in. External users cannot create other new external users.
